Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet:
Can You Lose Weight with Cookies?
An Honest Review!

Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet is perhaps one of the strangest diets out there. It seems like every dieter's fantasy, doesn't it? Eat nothing but cookies and still lose weight?

Well, it isn’t exactly like that because you won’t be able to eat Oreos or your favorite Girl Scout cookies. In order for Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet to work you will need to eat the specially prepared cookies for the diet.

These special cookies were designed by Dr. Siegal himself in order to assist his patients in losing weight. They are made with special food proteins that help suppress your appetite. A lot of people report that they have had luck with this.

To follow Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet you are simply suppose to eat six cookies during the day and then eat a healthy dinner. Dinner should consist of lean meat and a cup of veggies. While the total amount of calories for the day will depend on your dinner choices, this diet typically has a calorie count of around 800 calories a day.

The official website of this cookie diet readily admits that although the cookies taste pretty good, they are not delicious. They state the reason for this is because delicious foods cause individuals to eat too much and become overweight. Makes sense to me! I’ve certainly had days where I ate more goodies than I should have.

However, you can expect these special diet cookies to suppress your appetite and help you lose some weight.

There are a couple of cons that should probably be mentioned about Dr Siegals cookie diet. First, it is pretty low in calories. Most medical experts seem to agree that the average person needs at least 1200 calories per day and even more if you are active. This diet provides an average of around 800 calories. Consuming fewer calories may cause your body to go into “starvation mode” and slow your metabolism. This could cause you to regain weight once you stop the diet.

The other con for this diet is that although there are a variety of Dr. Siegal cookies available (banana, chocolate, oatmeal raisin, coconut, and blueberry), you may get bored after a few days of eating the same things over and over.

As an alternative, you may want to consider following a healthy diet of fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and fish and just use the Dr. Siegal Cookies as a snack to help suppress your appetite. It may be just the thing you need if you find that you are often hungry while diet but don’t want to resort to taking diet pills!
